JB Kim is a Director at Yendall Hunter with more than 17 years of experience in the construction industry, including over 5 years in construction-related disputes, serving in both advisory and expert witness roles. He is a professionally qualified civil engineer, specialising in quantum and delay issues. JB has a comprehensive background in handling dispute resolution on major international projects located in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and North America.

JB has prepared and led quantum analyses in numerous high-profile disputes across various sectors, including airports, power plants, process plants, offshore oil & gas, shipbuilding, hospitals, rail, road, and high-rise buildings.

Before joining Yendall Hunter, JB worked at Blackrock Expert Services (later Kroll). He spent more than 12 years working for Samsung Construction, where he gained substantial experience in various aspects of construction management and dispute resolution. As a contracts manager, he contributed to the settlement of complex disputes, including four major projects in Singapore and Qatar. The settled extension of time and monetary compensation involved more than 1,200 days of extension of time claims and a sum of £105 million.

JB earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Korea University and his MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution from King’s College London. His master's thesis, focused on construction quantum and site overheads claims, was awarded second prize by the European Society of Construction Law (ESCL) in 2020 and published in the International Construction Law Review (ICLR). He has also authored several articles on quantum and delay matters in international construction law journals.

JB is a Professional Engineer (Civil Engineering) in Korea, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), a Certified Cost Professional with the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEI), an Accredited Contract Manager with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), and a Member of the Society of Construction Law. He is fluent in both Korean and English.
